Brady’s Hope gathered in Indianapolis along side Overdose Lifeline, Inc. and others to attend training for Naloxone administration. Naloxone is an overdose reversal drug for those overdosing on any opiate such as prescription pain killers or heroin. Hundreds of Naloxone kits were provided to the public in attendance of the training program made possible through recently passed Aaron’s Law. This training event was sponsored by Overdose Lifeline, Inc. Afterwards, parents, siblings, and other family members attended a candlelight vigil in remembrance of those loved and lost to an overdose in correlation to International Overdose Day which is August 31st. This event was covered by WTHR Channel 13, WISHTV Channel 8, and FOX59 News.
Brady’s Hope was invited to participate in a panel discussion hosted by Carroll County Libraries. On the panel along side Brady’s Hope was State Trooper Sean Schaefer, Delphi Police Chief Steve Mullins, Carroll County Sheriff Tobe Leazenby, and Carroll County Prosecutor Rob Ives. The event was an open discussion helping bring light to the drugs found throughout Carroll County. Coming together and discussing drug related topics and issues within our community is an obvious step in the right direction in making a difference! Thank you to Kelly Currie and the Delphi Public Library for hosting this event.
